There can be no viable law unless it is enforced equally for all peoples and by all peoples. And there can be no exceptions including the president or any other elected or appointed person. Therefore, we believe that U.S. Atty. Gen. John Ashcroft be requested to intervene as is his responsibility.
Therefore, I, my family and my colleagues demand that Washington, D.C. Police Chief Charles H. Ramsey, et al which include his boss, Anthony A. Williams, Mayor at: http://mpdc.dc.gov/pfp/letter.shtm and: Government of the District of Columbia, 441 4th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001 City-Wide Call Center: (202) 727-1000 be enjoined from denying the peaceful demonstrations addressing grievances as permitted and required under the U.S. Constitutionís First Amendment. We further request that these responsible gentlemen be held accountable for any illegal acts they commit under criminal and civil penalties.
You have lawyers. I am not a lawyer. But the orders to chief Ramsey come from Mayor Williams who should, in my opinion ,be the first point of attack and the first held accountable along with U.S. Attorney General, John Ashcroft if he refuses to take action. Contact Ashcroft at: AskDOJ@usdoj.gov.
I have signed your petition. Thank you for your continuing efforts. Sincerely, John W. Willmott at 0824 EDT Sept. 10, 2001 Copy: President Bush, VP Cheney, US Atty Gen. Ashcroft and FBI Dir. Mueller. File:president\doj\ashcroft\010910freespeech.wpd
