One can't be too careful with German General Irwin Rommel's tank corps rampaging across North Africa as they drive to conquer Egypt and the Mideast with his fighters in the air and his Ju-87 Stuka dive bombers already attacking Cairo's Heliopolis Airport - our destination.

Below is a picture I took of one of our Lockheed Hudson
bombers as he flew alongside of us before we turned them over to the RAF.
Had the Luftwaffe fighters been on the prowl without the RAF cover, we would have been "dead ducks" because we were unarmed ferry crews. To complete our mission, we flew to nearby Heliopolis airport and turned our Hudson bomber over to the RAF then proceeded to the Heliopolis House Hotel. That night after dinner, we celebrated our success and longevity with a party at the bar drinking toasts to the Queen and down with Hitler. "Kill the sonofabitch!" Sometime around 10:00 P.M. the air raid sirens started howling. Most everyone rushed madly to the bomb shelter in the basement. We grabbed our drinks and prodded by the warden, reluctantly followed the crowd dwn narrow. steep[ stairs to a small crowded room where everyone stood jammed aromatically elbow to elbow, hugging their drinks. Not wanting to be found dead in this smelly hell-hole and wanting fresh air, we left the crowd to their ugly fate and and avoided the officious warden by proceeding via the staircase to the roof garden so we could celebrate and watch the action.
Before long we heard distant aircraft approaching in the darkness then overhead Anti-aircraft batteries opened fire with flashes on the ground followed by arching trails of shells which exploded with bright flashes in the sky. Searchlights erratically swept the black sky from horizon to horizon. I think they mssed the aircraft because they came in lower than expected to pull up near the airport then steeply dive upon the hangers and runways. They left flying low and fast. The next day it was reported the damage was minimal. It was a great show we were pleased to see but we were also glad that no bombs or shrapnel fell on the hotel.
Well - it's a long - long story which began long before this incident and before I was sworn to secrecy in Washington. Want more? There are some who will be pleased to know the whole truth and some not quite happy when it's told because even back then the truth was often bent badly now and then by those with special interests - or in the pay of such. Cuba: A cradle of Democracy - not! Always a victim of greedy imperialism. Now a victim of U.S. embargoes, the latest being the Helms Burton Bill condemned by the whole world except Israel..
Bali - Burma - Fiji - Hawaii - and other exotic - romantic Islands in the sun! When I win the Florida Lottery We'll go to Bali and Figi!
France: WW-1 and 2 fought largely on its soil. Has nuke bombs and is on 5 member U.N. Security council. Has great wine and sexy women - but so do others. Do you?
Haiti: Gosh! What can I say about Haiti? Was occupied by U.S. to protect U.S. greedy sugar and banana planters. "Terrorist" Aristide who endorsed "necklacing" the opposition with gasoline and tires was restored to uneasy power by the U.S. Remember?
Iran: Was Persia. Has oil, carpets and hates U.S. for its imperialism and aiding Israel keep its "bomb." Victim of unilaterial embargo by U.S. to protect Israel. Go make peace with Iraq! A worry to some. Guess who!?
Iraq: Once Messopotamia. A progressive Arab nation, friend and trading partner - betrayed and blown to dust by George Bush to protect Israel. Will be revived if it changes some and joins with Iran and others. Go to it!
Ireland: Emerald Isle. No snakes! Home of Guiness Ale, the IRA, Poets and writers. Northern Ireland is in a terrorist war with Britain over its occupation in the same manner as Palestine is illegally occupied by Israeli Jews. My heritage - one Ireland! Up the IRA!
Israel: The home of the Israeli-Jews who, like mad dogs, bit the hands of their saviors and deliberately sunk the USS Liberty killing 34 U.S. sailors, wounding 171. Illegally occupies Palestine and part Lebanon and Syria. Hello Hitler- did you say you'd return? They surely learned well from you!
Japan: U.S. Trade competator. Now an ally of U.S. Attacked Pearl Harbor 12-07-41 injecting America into WW-2.
Jordan: King Hussein offered peace to Israel. Netanyahu betrays him and his other peace partners by building Jew's homes on Arab lands which was condemned 14 to 1 in U.N. Security council, then 130 to 2 in General Assembly and again 14 -1 a week ago. Guess who the nay votes were?
Kuwait: Home of the corrupt Saba family. Invaded by Iraq after U.S. "green light" permission given by April Glaspie, J. Baker and George Bush. Didn't have guts to fight. Stench of dirty politics and rotting innocent corpses.
Lebanon: In history, a "crossroads" and "Paris" of the Mid East. Now fighting Israeli occupation in its south. Bekka Valley under control of some 30,000 Syrian troops and training area for attacks on Israel.
Libya: Pumps oil. Bombed by U.S. for attack and death of two GIs in German disco-beer bar it didn't do. Neither did Libya bomb PAA 103 killing 170 souls as U.S. and Britain charge because it was done by Israel to discredit Arafat's peace initiative accepted by the U.S. in summer of 1988 to the great distress of Israeli-Jews. Now in March peace falling apart.
Mexico: South of the border where American good jobs went with "a great big sucking sound!" Is a good guy passing cocane to U.S. to satisfy demand! Has a great market in the U.S.
Saudi Arabia: Corrupt Fahd family pumps oil. Home of Mecca, Islam's holiest place. Home for anti-Iraq U.S. military protecting Israel. Good terrorist target. Two recent attacks on U.S. forces. Who did it?
Somalia: Horn of Africa. Bush sent troops in media staged assault. Clinton changed mission to "nation building." U.S. helicopters killed 300 hungry Somalians. Two shot down. 19 U.S GIs died - some mutilated.
Syria: Arch enemy of Israeli-Jews. Key number two for door to Mid East peace. Its Golan Heights captured in June 1967 war immediately after Israeli deliberate June 8th attack on the USS Liberty intelligence ship.
Peru:Produces fine cocane and opium to satisfy America's craving and craven apetite. Greed of its slave-master type rich oppressed the working class brought the Shining Light and the Tupac Amaru revolutionaries!
Turkey: Sits astraddle the Bosperus in Asia and Europe. Secular Islam now leaning toward fundamentalism. Shut off Iraqi oil to please Israel and U.S. Recently rejected for member of E.U. Should join with Iraq and Iran.

FLASH - HOT NEWS! April 7th. Israeli P.M. Netanyahu flies home to Israel after emergency session of some 90 minutes with Clinton at White House. He was in an ugly and angry mood in speaking to news persons and was reported as blaming the Palestiniams and Arafat for the poor suffering Jew's plight and the failure of the peace process due to the Palestinian "terrorist" response to the Israelis confiscating and anexing their homes and lands. Yahu seemed like a whipped dog running with his tail between his legs to the dog house. Perhaps President Clinton showed the Yahu that he has big brass balls between his legs at long last! Forget the above news flashes except for reference. Netanyahu, on arriving in Israel, brazenly defied the U.S., the guarentor of the very existance of the Israli Jews. He defied the U.N. which gave the Jews a piece of the Holy Land - not all of it. He defied international law and thumbs his nose at all who saved the Jews from Hitler. Netanyahu deserves whatever comes his way and so do the Jews for allowing him - in their "democracy" to commit the Jews and America to a vicious terrorist war against the freedom fighting Palestinians and other Muslims.
